    • The institute was established in July 1939 by the management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams with a vision to create a premier research and training center.

    • The renowned scholar Prof. S.K. Belvalkar prepared a comprehensive scheme for the institute, emphasizing research, training, and the creation of an official organ called the Oriental Journal.
    • In April 1938, the Sri Venkateswara Oriental Institute came into existence, and it officially began functioning in July 1939.
